Friday, September 22, 1995 - Curaco

Did another load of laundry at the marina. As usual, it took four hours and cost sixteen guilders. Everybody and his brother were trying to wash their clothes, but I managed to squeeze in. Started the washer and took a shower, figuring the clothes would be ready for the dryer by the time I was through, but they hadn't even started to get damp. Turned out the hot-water button no longer works; you have to use the warm-water button, so I lost half an hour, but eventually they got done. I'm very glad this is my last load of wash at this place. October first, the marina is raising the weekly rate from four guilders to thirty guilders. Glad we'll be gone by then. Roy went downtown and bought a larger alternator, but when he got back to the boat, he couldn't remove the pulley, so now he has to take it back and try to get a refund, or try to find someone who can show him how to take it apart.
